Lawrence Buffingtonon the right. with a friend of his in WW1. Lawrence was the son of Harvey
Buffington and Martha (Lake) Buffington. He died December 25, 1918 comming home from the war.
He got as far as Keokuk and came down with the flu epidemic that was going around, went to the hospital
in Keokuk and died that night. He had just a few miles to go as his father lived in West Point.
