RICE June 04, 1866 in Hancock County, IL2.

4.  AMANDA2 HOWARD (WILLIAM1) was born December 20, 1849 in Indiana, and died
July 23, 1924 in Basco, Hancock County, Illinois6.  She married (1) WILLIAM
THOMAS BRYANT December 14, 1871 in Adams County, Illinois7.  He was born 1845 in
Illinois, and died March 04, 1900 in Chili, Illinois.  She married (2) JACOB
F. SLIGER December 30, 1903 in Hancock County, Illinois8.  He was born July 26,
1843, and died July 23, 1920 in Adams County, Illinois.

Obituary - Quincy Whig - July 1924 (date unknown - she died on July 23rd)

    "Basco, IL., July 25 - Mrs. Amanda Sliger died at her home here at 6:30
Wednesday morning, due to the shock from a fall in her yard Monday,
fracturing her hip.  She was 74 years old.  Mrs. Sliger was born in Indiana,
in 1849.  She came with her parents to West Point when a child, where the
family resided for several years.  She was married to William Thomas Bryant
in 1869.  The family resided on a farm near Chili, Ill., until Mr. Bryant
died on March 4, 1900.
    "Mrs. Bryant and the son, Elmer, moved to Basco in 1901.  In January
1903, she was married to Jacob Sliger and they lived on a farm near Denver,
Ill., until failing health forced him to leave the farm, moving to Basco,
where he died August 23, 1920.  She was of a family of six children.  One
sister and one brother survive her and reside in California.  A brother,
William, made his home with her.  She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Allie
Plowman, and one son, Elmer Bryant, of Basco, and eight grandchildren.
    "The funeral service was conducted at the Basco Methodist church on
Friday afternoon.  Rev. Harmon Kelly officiating."
