Samuel Tarr, farmer and stock dealer, is a son of John and Rebecca Tarr,
natives of Virginia and of German descent. He was born in 1813 in Ohio, and came to this county in 1862, settling in Augusta. He
was married in Ohio in 1833, to Nancy Hollenshead, also a native of Ohio and born in 1813, of French descent. Mr. and Mrs. Tarr are
the parents of 6 children—Mandana B., wife of Robert Ruys, of Iowa; Pinckney, John, Lemira, wife of Robert Johnson, of Iowa;
George and Mary A. Mr. T. is a Democrat.
